Vicky plays and teaches clarinet, saxophone and flute to people of all abilities and ages. Vicky has been conducted and taught by a wide a variety teachers and found their teaching techniques inspirational. She has used and adapted these to build her own effective teaching technique.

 

Vicky has built up a library of teaching materials to help her students to develop good technique, tone and musicality across all the instruments she teaches. She teaches a variety of different practice techniques that she has found helpful in her own practice to guide students to learn a piece and different techniques quickly and in an interesting way. Vicky also incorporates music theory into lessons as it is important to know basic theory as it can enhance music performance. She can also give theory lessons up to grade 5 standard. 

 

Vicky currently teaches many students privately and is also the woodwind tutor at a music centre in Malmesbury. She has guided many students through graded exams from the boards ABRSM and Trinity, tailoring lessons that help every student reach their needs and full potential. She is a very flexible and patient teacher who wants the student to get what they want out of lessons, whether they want to go through grades, are new beginners or want to just play for fun.
