Biography
About:
Vicky has recently graduated from Bath Spa University with a first class BA hons degree in music. She will soon be starting her masters degree in clarinet performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Her main instruments are the clarinet, saxophone and flute and she is available to perform and teach these instruments to all ages and abilities. She is also available to teach beginner recorder, fife, piano and theory. For enquiries please contact her by email or text.
Vicky has many years of experience performing with and leading many different types of ensembles through out her social, school and university career. This has given her a wide repertoire in Wind band, orchestral, musical, popular, choral and jazz works. These include ensembles within South Gloucestershire Music Hub such as South Gloucestershire Youth, Wind and Jazz Orchestras and also chamber wind ensembles. Vicky was involved with Bath Spa University Orchestra, Wind Band, Big Band, Choir, clarinet, flute and chamber winds ensembles. She has also participated in workshops and performed alongside The National Youth Orchestra, Bristol Metropolitan Orchestra, Bath Philharmonia and The Royal Marines Wind Band and chamber ensembles. As well as orchestral performing, Vicky regularly plays in pit bands and has recently been involved in the following shows, Oliver, Honk, Joseph and Sister Act.
Throughout Vicky's musical career she has had the opportunity to perform in venues including the Colston Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Bath Assembly rooms, Wiltshire music centre, The Forum - Bath, The Arc theatre - Trowbridge, Birmingham Town Hall, Birmingham Conservatoire - Adrian Boult Hall and The Carnegie Hall. Vicky has traveled to Germany, The Netherlands and America - New York to perform with different ensembles.
Vicky currently teaches many students privately and is also the woodwind tutor at a music centre in Malmesbury. Vicky has experience with students of all ages and abilities. She has guided many students through graded exams from the exam boards ABRSM and Trinity, tailoring lessons that help every student reach their full potential and needs. She is a very flexible and patient teacher who wants the student to get what they want out of lessons, whether they want to go through grades, are new beginners or want to just play for fun.
